CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2011 NCSA CHAMPIONS!

The Franklin Jr. Wildcat Midgets in the 2011 Rock Bowl Tournament!

Not ready for the season to end, we signed up for the 2011 Rock Bowl Tournament and went in with about 21 of our 34 players. We first took on the 2011 SVUSA Champions with a 9-1 record, Del Campo Jr Cougars. It was a tough game with only one true practice to prepare for Del Campo without any game film, but the Wildcats pulled it out just before the final whistle to win that game 22-14. The very next day, we played the host of the tournament, Foothill Jr Mustangs. This game proved to be our most exciting game of the season. There was plenty of drama, touchdowns, turnovers, AND RAIN... yet perhaps the biggest turnout of fans we had all season long! It was a true dog fight but we came out on top, 39-24.

Congratulations to all the parents who probably would have rather spent the weekend before Thanksgiving relaxing. These few die hard football families deserve all the credit. You should all be very proud of your boys! GO WILDCATS!!!

Congratulations to the FJW Jr. Midget team for beating Del Campo 14-6 to win the 2011 Rock Invitational Bowl! Great job boys!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FJW CHEERLEADERS!

The Franklin Jr. Wildcat cheer teams took the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium by storm this weekend.  All of our Franklin teams rocked the house receiving five bids for JAMZ Nationals, 4 NCSA Championship titles and one 2nd place.

We are so proud of all of our cheerleaders and thank our families, football coaches, and football players who came out to support our girls. We'd like to give a special thanks to all of our cheer coaches and trainers for all of their hard work and dedication and to Mike Smith photography for coming out to photograph our girls. Check out the pictures from the competition on his website at http://miketsmithphoto.com/fjwjamz2011

Please review the following Policies and Procedures that all parents and participants must follow:

Pre-season Conditioning and Tryouts -  Football players are to wear athletic shorts and a plain white t-shirt with the last name written boldly on the back of the shirt. Players may wear football cleats (refer to the NCSA rulebook to determine what types of cleats are allowed).

Food and Water - Coaches, instructors, board members and players should not eat on the field during practices or games. Water breaks will be taken as needed, and all participants are responsible for bringing clearly labeled adequate-sized water jugs to each practice and game.  Water bottles should not be shared between players or cheerleaders. Sodas or energy drinks during practices or games are NOT recommended. Sunflower seeds - Parents if you choose to eat sunflower seeds during practice, please make sure the shells are disposed of properly. If there are any shells left on the grass or blacktop after practice then the FJW board will have no choice other than to prohibit any consumption of sunflower seeds at Toby. Failure to keep Toby Johnson MS tidy and picked up jeopardizes are facility use.

Parking -  Parking on the street (Franklin High Road) is prohibited, and violators will be ticketed.  Please use either the Toby Johnson Parking lots or the Library parking lot.  In addition, there is no parking in the fire lane.  When dropping off or picking up your child, you may use the right side of the round-about as long as you remain in the car at all times, and NEVER block the fire lane directly in front of the gate or the crosswalk, this area will be marked by red cones.  The left side of the roundabout is to always stay clear for through traffic.

Participant Pick-Up -  Parents must arrive on time to pick up their participants immediately following practices and/or games.  The FJW coaches and/or board members will do their best to ensure your child’s supervision; however, it is the parent’s responsibility to be on time to ensure their child’s safety and security.  Repetitive violations (15 minutes or more) after the end of practice may result in discipline, including game suspension.

Garbage -  All trash must be picked up after all practices and games.  Each squad will be responsible for removing garbage in their practice area.  Failure to keep Toby Johnson MS tidy and picked up jeopardizes our facility use.  We ask that everyone please pitch in.

Guests -  Parents are welcome to attend all practices.  Siblings and friends are also welcome provided they are not disruptive and are being supervised by a parent.  Parents may not leave siblings and/or friends unattended at games, practices or other FJW events. All football & cheer parents must sit on the blacktop or in the specific area designated by the coach while watching their child. If your child brings a scooter to ride on the blacktop during practice please let them know that racing on the blacktop is not allowed.

Pets -  Because we participate at an Elk Grove Unified School District field, pets are not allowed to attend any FJW practice, game or function.  This is a school district policy.  The only exception is for certified service animals.
